Formed in Toronto in 1968, Rush was a rock band active between 1968 and 2018. They enjoyed chart success in Canada, the US, and the UK, especially during 1980s and 1990s. The band was known for its complex compositions and unique lyrics that often drew on motifs from science fiction, fantasy, and philosophy. They are estimated to have sold about 42 million albums worldwide, won numerous awards for their music, and were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.
